About 4 years ago I was driving with two other ladies to a meeting that was half an hour away. We started talking about how much time our husbands put into working and school. Two of us had husbands that were busy in their residency for Anesthesia and the other (Dee) had a husband that was finishing a PHD in microbiology. Dee had a strong opinion that the long hours her husband spent doing his degree were just as hard and time consuming as our husbands. At the time I told her I didn't think she was right. I thought that my husbands hours, day in and day out, were longer and harder than her husbands. Since then I have reconsidered my stand. Both our husbands were deep in getting an education to provide for their families someday. Just as the Dr. the PHD mind and body were completely consumed while the wife of these men kept their house, marriage and families going. I am starting this blog to help unite women who's spouses are in school whether it be a PHD, Medical, Law, MBA or what ever field. I want to get idea's from spouses of all different fields to help the next generation of women who have to wade through years of schooling. I want to give them golden nuggets that helped us on our journey. By inviting guest to write on this blog and tell their stories I hope to find that common ground that we all share...
